10 years ago, this date was said to be the end of the world: 21-12-12. It was a big thing back then, some people truly believed it, and movies were made, songs were sung and all those cliches.
My memory of this date was precious, I remember that my family and some of our close family friends decided to have an impromptu picnic by the park near our house. The weather was nice and we were teasing each other about the date. We enjoyed it. I enjoyed it completely. We were complete as a family and we were just having conversations and laughter.
Today, I am blessed again to experience this day as one of the coolest days ever! The climate here in Istanbul had been cloudy for the past few weeks, so I made a promise to myself that once the sun’s out, I need to be out at the park, no excuses! I would enjoy the sun because as much as I love my cloudy days, I do miss the sunny days and their warmth too! So today, with that promise, I went out. I took my notebook and even prepared coffee so I can sip it while I enjoy the view of the sea by the park, with the sun’s warmth all over my face.
For the first time, I watched a complete sunset here in Istanbul. I have been looking for a place for the best view of sunsets here in Istanbul, and today by luck, I witnessed one of the most mesmerizing sunsets I have ever seen! The sunset was gorgeous and I felt so much joy watching it, and all I could think of was that this is so cool!
I love how I ended up there without even any plans, I didn’t even check the time for sunset, I just decided to have my afternoon coffee outside and have one of my relaxing walks! Sometimes, just by chance or randomly, you just do things and end up being surprised by them in an unexplainable way! What I thought would be a simple day, turned out to be one of the best ones!
