I didn't start out as a writer. I spent years as a dentist in Jeddah, a flight attendant crossing borders for Saudi Arabian Airlines, and later a patient advocate helping people navigate healthcare in a language and country that wasn't their own. Somewhere in all of that, I realized the stories I kept noticing — the small human moments in waiting rooms, airports, and unfamiliar cities — were the thing I actually wanted to spend my life writing down. I write essays and stories about identity, belonging, and what it means to keep choosing yourself in new places. I'm currently based in Dubai, working on my first book, and writing weekly on Substack.

This is where I plan to tell stories, short stories at least, and some of my blogs.
This is where I want to introduce my characters and their stories.
Characters and stories I had since I was a little girl with plenty of my imagination.
As a child, I would say that I love listening to stories, whether they are about folktales from my grandparents or relatives or just a simple thought/imagination I heard from a new neighbor. I love to observe people, know their stories and even pretend that I knew them just by observing them living their everyday lives.
Every day our journey is different from the previous day. We all have different timelines in our lives. I have learned that the hard way. And all people are different. No one is the same. In fact, as people, our only similarities is our difference.
This is why I know then that there are so many stories to tell and even now as an adult, I believe these stories just increase and get deeper over time as we mature and further experience life.
To be honest, I have long forgotten this dream of writing, and most of the time I lose the words of my imagination, however as I read my previous short stories and my journals, I always miss the idea of my writing and just sharing my thoughts, feelings, and experiences as well as the thoughts, feelings, and experiences of others.
So here I am, getting back to this long-forgotten hobby and dream.
Here I am trying again. Here I will try to write the ordinary stories of ordinary people. Because I believe that ordinary is pretty much extraordinary.
